LIFEGUARD CERTIFICATION

  

Welcome to Lifeguarding!

This 24-hour course provides CPR and First Aid certification, and Lifeguarding.

Swim Test:

Swim 100-yard breaststroke & freestyle

Tread Water for one minute

Retrieve a 10 lb. diving brick from the deep end.

Jump in and float and return to the wall in deep water

Course Objectives:

· Professionalism and Prevention

· Scanning, Surveillance, and Rotation

· Emergency Action Plans

· Rescue of Responsive Patrons

· Rescue of Unresponsive Patrons

· Submerged Deep Water Rescue

· Managing Spinal Injuries and Extrication

· Airway Management and Rescue Breathing

· Cardiac Arrest and CPR

· First Aid for musculoskeletal injuries, open wounds, and severe bleeding

· Disease Transmission and Universal Precautions

Please come prepared with a swimsuit, towel and a change of dry clothes, a notebook, and a pen.

Lifeguard Certification Course using Starguard Elite. Includes CPR for Adult, Infant, and Child, Automated External Defibrillator, Epi-Pen, and Advanced First Aid.

Tuition includes a fanny pack and whistle.

We use the blended learning approach which combines online modules to reduce your time in the classroom. Participants must complete online modules (about 4-8 hours) prior to class. Students will receive a separate email invitation to the modules within 48 business hours after registration.

Candidates must pass a swim test, all rescue skills, and a written exam, while demonstrating maturity and professionalism in class, in order to be licensed.
